“Gauguin’s teeth found in well”

Posted by on Monday December 24 2007

Headline-writing is of course an art. This one is a gem.

I can just see the blockbuster exhibit — a reliquary bearing Gauguin’s decayed teeth, surrounded by other artifacts, ranging from broken perfume bottles to a syringe, found in the proper archaeological stratum of the well. The Middle Ages meets Polynesia meets Damien Hurst.

And then we go to the museum’s bar for the lecture and a cold beer.
