This is for everyone playing along at home.
Earlier this year Marla and I worked on an article that will appear in the next edition of the Encylopedia of Library and Information Science that covers the basics about MCN. A version of that article, A Brief History of the Museum Computer Network is available on the MCN website.
For the conference I boiled this all down in to a little poster that shows some of the highlights, now posted to my Flickr account and the MCN Flickr group.
Special thanks to Leslie Johnston for sharing a great collection of MCN materials that went into this. This of course is all a work in process, that builds on the work that Kathy Jones started in the Wired Museum. There are some obvious wholes in parts of our collective memory, we welcome comments and suggestions that will inform future versions of our story.
