I’m pleased to welcome our newest contributor to Musematic, Seb Chan.
Many of us have followed the exciting work that Seb has done on the Powerhouse’s OPAC2.0 – much of it documented via the Fresh+New blog. Seb is also the co-author of Radical Trust: The State of the Museum Blogosphere, presented at the 2007 Museums & the Web conference.
In his own words:
Sebastian Chan is the Manager of the Web Services Unit at the Powerhouse Museum. Coming from a background in social policy, journalism and media criticism as well as information technology, he has been building and producing websites and interactive media since the mid 1990s. At the Powerhouse he has been responsible for driving a strong user focus in design, usability and content, as well as expanding the scope and reach of the museum’s suite of online projects.
He is also currently known for his rapidfire presentations and knowledge sharing workshops on social media and Web 2.0 in the cultural sector which have been delivered around Australia as well as in the USA, Canada and UK. His other interests include electronic music and digital art, and he has directed and curated large scale national and international events and festivals, as well as producing related media from radio to print. He runs the Fresh + New blog covering issues and new ideas around digital media and museums at http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/dmsblog/
Welcome!
